MustHaveBeenTheCat

MustHaveBeenTheCat

Tell us about yourself.

I live in Tasmania, the beautiful island state of Australia. Surrounded by mountains, river and sea it’s truly a beautiful place to be.

I love all sorts of craft and I love to combine my love of sewing with my love of cats and so MustHaveBeenTheCat was born. I make all sorts of quirky cat creations but my most popular item is my cat shaped neck and shoulder therapy packs which can be used hot or cold.

When did you open your business and what make you decide to do so?

I opened MustHaveBeenTheTheCat in 2011.

MustHaveBeenTheCat was the perfect chance to combine my love of cats and my love of sewing.

I chose MustHaveBeenTheCat as it’s often the cat that gets blamed for anything that goes wrong.

“Who knocked that expensive vase off the shelf?” “It must have been the cat!”tillie

Tell us a bit about your products.

My best selling items are my heat packs. I have cat, dog and fox shaped neck and shoulder wrap heat packs. Great for easing those sore and stiff necks.

I also have cat dolls, cat themed totes and phone covers, book covers, fleecy scarves and hand warmers.

My newest range are my cat shaped weighted shoulder wraps and lap pillows for those with sensory processing issues.2015-10-21-20-45-02

What inspires your work?

I am inspired by my love of cats. They are so irresistible. Every cat has its own personality. Just like my own creations, no two are the same.

I have to admit to being a fabricholic or is it a curator of fabric? So much beautiful fabric and so little time and so little room.

Being able to sell my creations made with gorgeous fabrics gives me an excuse to buy more.fox6a

What are your future goals for the business this year? What is your dream for this business?

I’d like to get a standalone website up and running and use up some more of my gorgeous fabric collection.c2387013154ca0cf52dd8f1de07ca540

What makes your business stand out from businesses that sell similar products?

I think I have a niche market ans no-one else creates the things I do but if I we are just talking about heat packs mine are unique as they are cat, fox and dog shaped made in gorgeous fabrics and no two are alike.

Tell us a bit about your work space. Do you have a separate studio?

My work space is my kitchen table so it can be frustrating as I have to pack up everything at the end of the day and set it up again the next time.

My ultimate dream would be to have a dedicated work space …. my own studio.78fa376f2fd4c0060381c9fd90bbfb8d

What have you learned since opening your business that you wish you had known before hand?

I wish I had known how much work it would be and also how much fun it would be and that I would find such a wonderful support network on Etsy.

Any advice for those thinking about selling on Etsy?

Make sure you join an active and supportive team it can make all the difference to your success.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do to unwind and have fun? Do you have any hobbies?

When I’m not working I’m studying. I’m doing a second degree course as well as a certificate course. It keeps me busy and out of mischief.

I’ve also taken up quilting and love to use up all those scraps from my creations to make new fabric and exciting quilts. Well if I’m really honest I make lots of quilt tops but haven’t actually finished any yet. So many things to do and so little time.ab35b19e70093909eb4c16441222e4df

Colour and Creativity

Contributor post by Dawn from DeeDeeDeesigns

I asked Christmas in July teamies what their favourite colour is, and how this influenced their creativity…. the question received a huge response, and all their secrets are revealed below ~~~~ grab a coffee and some cake, and put your feet up!!

My favourite colour is purple and whenever I see purple paper I want to buy it! I love this retro purple paper and decided to make some small card sets with it. I made them with thank you notes in mind.

Ivory is my fav as it reminds me of pureness, clearness, happiness, optimistic, freedom

WHITE

I’m a full time farmer and I enjoy winter on the farm – even going out to the barn for chores my camera is often in tow. Winter White brings a beautiful calm to the landscape and helps me see nature in a different light.

This was the first snow fall of the winter

Blue, any shade of it.

I’m a big fan of the seaside and so blue is a very obvious choice for me. The aqua blues and then darker blues of the ocean against the lighter blues of the sky make me feel happy and relaxed. I often use blue in my prints as I always associate the colour with the feelings of happiness and freedom.

I’m a sucker for rainbows. A beautiful end to a fierce storm, the full rainbow makes its way into my work at every opportunity. When you can’t choose just one colour, choose them all!

Gosh, it’s hard to choose ONE color because I love so many in all their hues and tones
I suppose purple is probably the one I like most, followed closely by blue and I was able to combine the two in this card, using an Italian paper that featured little lilac flowers with a rich blue card stock at the bottom. To tie the two together I used white lace.

The card is a birthday card and pokes gentle fun at forgetful memories of what we might have done before

G R E E N is my ultimate favourite colour. It has inspired me with so many product designs in my shop.

My favourite item is my Christmas Advent Calendar as so much time, creativity & love go into them. This one here is the very first one I made for my son.

Green and Blue are my absolute favourite colours.

If I had to separate them, my answer would be different each time! Tonight, I’d choose GREEN but ask me tomorrow and it could well be BLUE.

I find them equally beautiful, refreshing, enlivening and soulful.

For these reasons, I adore the peacock irridesence (perfect marriage of Green and Blue) of Paua Shell / Abalone and seek Vintage Jewellery Items in this glorious natural material.

well a deep teal light the twilight sky is my usual fav but latley I’m obsessed with coral!

Not for the shy!

Purple, always end up back at purple……the yarn is different in that it has to be beautiful, yet practical.

Purple and green is my favorite color combination. When I found this beautiful pansy fabric, I knew it was the perfect accent and I decided to incorporate it in this quilted centerpiece.

My favorite color is green…all shades! My line of art may not feature one color over another, but I would say my Fresh Alphabet Art is pretty green…both in the actual color and in the fresh sense of the word. In creating this alphabet, I knew I wanted fresh produce, but I also wanted vibrant greens. My favorite are the leafy stalks on the leeks!

My favorite color is blue. I love it because there are so many shades and nuances to it. It reminds me of sky, water, peace, and tranquility. I chose the beads in this ornament for that very reason. Peace and tranquility during the holiday hustle and bustle.

My favorite colour is purple …what’s not to like about it? There are so many beautiful shades to choose from and it goes really well with black which is also another favorite.

I love pink, it is soft, gentle and pretty. I love pink flowers which inspires many of my cards I make, this one is a Thinking of You card.

My favourite colour is blue and always has been. It is tranquil and calming. It is a large part of nature – the sky and the ocean.

My favourite colour is yellow. It reminds me of bumble bees and daisies and all things summer. I have a wall in my house painted ‘crazy daisy’ so even on a cold rainy day it cheers me up. I thought I needed to make something cute that gives a nice warm feeling with this little daisy print fabric, so I made a wee kitten.

Amath from Gomis says

Nothing beats Bold Gold!!!!

Gold has a universal, luxurious, and fundamental appeal. Having a gold colored item brightens my day, and those of the wearer!

Blue –

I love blue in any shade, if a take a look onto my shop, there can it been seen. From childhood I preferred blue colored clothing. It remembers me on blue summer sky, blue, wonderful Latvian sea and it also symbolizes hope, what we all need.

Wendy Joy from wjoydesigns says

I LOVE anything that is iridescent and especially in greens and purple! This piece was my first try at mosaic. I have been making stained glass for 15 years and had so much beautiful leftover art glass. I am a huge advocate for recycling in any and every form.I never wanted to part with the beautiful bits of leftover glass. I wanted to put them to good use! So in this piece, I made use of the scraps in a most beautiful way! Recycling at it’s finest!!

I love turquoise a lot, and especially in combination with bright colors like prange or a beautiful deep yellow. I also love birds, so I brought all of this together in this mixed media painting. These colors are happy colors for me, they put a smile on my face and make me feel better. I hope that others feel the same when they look at this painting.

Pink !

Anything girly and feminine , it has to be pink.

My latest design , is lovely in all shades of pink with a touch of maroons and greens

I say green is my absolute favorite color, however, as of late, I’ve been loving this turquoise color in a lot of my designs. It just looks so trendy and works with so many different color combos.

Well said, Katrina from BygoneAllure! I have more greens and blues in my personal fabric stash than any other color. Peacock blue or green attracts me, every time.

“Plume” is one of my fabric offerings that is viewed the most on Etsy:

As a jewelry designer, it’s no surprise that my favorite color is gold. Just the rich tone of gold, 14 karats or not, evokes a sense of elegance and class. That quality is essential to me as a creator of upcycled jewelry because it adds sophistication to an amalgamation of broken pieces.

Below is a great example of how luxurious the color gold is especially when paired with pearls and rhinestones. The Belle Bracelet was made with vintage scraps, but it looks unbelievably chic.

My absolute favorite color has got to be Pink! Pink reminds me of Flamingo’s which makes me think “Fun!” So, for me – Any fabric which involves pink somewhere in it and is fun… Let’s just say that get’s me every time! And if I have to be doing computer work – I might as well have a “Fun” pattern in my Wrist Pillows for Keyboard & Mouse Comfort. I choose to have 2 coordinating patterns with this set, so if your tired with one – Just flip in over or Mix & Match.

Vanilla White is my favorite color because it makes me feel calm and gives me clarity.

Blue, blue, blue. In any shade. Even my house is blue. The ocean is a big part of my life and a big part of my Etsy store.

My favorite color is this stunning sea green. I spent my entire childhood begging my parents to take me to the beach and, on those rare occasions we got to go, I loved the green reflecting off the sea foam. It makes me happy every time I see this color.

Carrie from madcapz says

My favorite color has always been blue but of late I am partial to purple. I find purple to be such a calming yet regal color. I like the softer shades of purple over the darker ones. I used pastel purple in this item:

Ioana from Soutacherie says

I love ALL colours and you can see that throughout the shop. If I were to choose, I’d choose the combination of orange and blue. A bit bold and unusual but very spectacular, cold and warm at the same time, serious and playful.

My favorite color is PINK. It’s soft, it’s feminine and joyful!

Christmas Stockings in any color you want. I do not discriminate with over 50 colors and patterns!

Green is my favorite color and I really like the color combo of my latest bracelet. It doesn’t really match anything I own, but I don’t care!

My favorite color is teal! It tends to appear in a lot of my work, sometimes totally unintentionally. I particularly love the fresh clean combo of teal and white in interior decor!

My favourite colour is teal, its not a colour I have stocked before in my shop but I love this pom pom hat.

The colors of the rainbow have a special meaning for me, every time I see one it’s like a sign from above that everything is going to be allright. My littlest son is undergoing leukemia treatment, and all the knots in my bracelets made during this hard period symbolise a prayer, and the rainbow is the good period that will come after the storm.

Ina from InaSudjana says

Praying for your little one and your family too Andrea – I DO LOVE rainbow myself. It is indeed a sign of hope.

I love my primary colours; blue mainly. But I also love all the red, yellow and green. A rainbow person I am.

My most favorite color is dark purple – the color of royalty. I looked up the significance of the color purple and found that it really did match my personality. It said that the people who like the color purple are sensitive, compassionate, understanding a supportive, peaceful and tranquil, introverted, creative, inspire others with their creative thinking, are intuitive and quite psychic.

I grew out of pink for a while, but now I think it’s safe to say it’s back on top for me! I think, growing up, I was limited in my idea of what you could really do with pink, but the newer trends of pairing shades of pink with shades of grey really inspired me with this piece. I think it softens the harshness pink can have sometimes, while also bringing that fantastic pop of colour that I’ve always loved pink for!

My favorite colors are blends of purples and greens. I look for yarns that allow me to blend these two color…when it works….it like magic…For me, that blend looks like the mountains of southeastern Kentucky where I grew up.

My “favorite” color tends to change with my mood (human mood ring?), but I always seem to come back to purple. I used a lavender shade for this batch of soap to match the scent, but also because I find lavender (both color and flower) soothing.

Love green and red and somehow keep buying beads in those colors. Bright greens and deep greens are tops on my list. Bit I also love black/white/gray combos.

Design’s the Limit from DesignstheLimit says

If clear is a color, it is my favorite. People have always said they can see right through me and I wear my heart on my sleeve. It is never too early to start designing your custom ornaments and we proudly offer Christmas ornaments year round!

Dina StyleKnits from DinaStyleKnits say

my favorite color is pink. It’s a color of love, beauty, charm, politeness, sensitivity, tenderness, sweetness, childhood, femininity, and the romantic. I used pink yarn in my knitting very often.

Well, I don’t know about you, but I reckon the winners were purple, blue and pink!!

Be sure to check out these great stores for some wonderful Christmas in July specials and start your Christmas shopping early!

My favorite color is green but I noticed that there is a lot of blues in my shop. Not to mention my shop name is Gigi’s Blue Rose. Well, this is a lovely blanket I made with turquoise. I just might have to change my favorite color. But honestly, I think calming colors are my favorite, colors that remind me of flowers, the ocean, sand, the sky, trees, etc. and this blanket is full of flowers with a hint of bright (like the sun).

My favourite colour… hmm… I like green, but even more I love BLUE! It’s the colour of the sky, it has hundreds of shades and it’s the colour of labradorite “flame”, which is absolutely amazing! That’s why I love using labradorites in my works!

I Love all shades of blue but especially the blues of the ocean. Water has always inspired me and I am drawn to it for its restorative powers and sense of peace and beauty. Water is essential to life.

So, what a fantastic collection of teamies and how colour informs their creativity!! Be sure to visit the stores & take advantage of the Christmas in July sales in their stores!

Welcome New Team Members – June 2015

Contributor post by Dawn from DeeDeeDeesigns

Wow – June certainly has been a boomer of a month for new membership!!

I suggest coffee and cake  to discover all the new shops and fantastic products to follow!

I’m new to the team, but can’t remember if I joined in late May or in June. I just know it was quite recently.

I’ve been crafting almost all my life. I got started by learning to knit at just 4 years old. I’m 59 now, and over the last 55 years have tried almost every type of craft there is. Some I loved and still do when I can, others I didn’t much care for and so never tried again. I started making jewellery 4 years ago and enjoyed it so much that I soon had way too much jewellery and realised that, if I wanted to continue making it, I would need to open a shop. So here I am.

I love working with beads, so most of the things I have in my shop are beaded. I’m keen to find other, non-jewellery, items that I can make using beading techniques, but so far I have only added beaded snowflake decorations to my shop. I have a large number of items ready to sell, but haven’t had time to list them yet as I’m also attempting to sell at as many craft fairs as possible. The craft fairs are fun but they take up sooo much time!

Here is an example of my work, a Kumihimo bracelet that is my most-viewed item:

Melissa R from missy69 says

I just joined a couple of days ago. A fellow member referred me to here. I am getting familiar with all the cool things you do on this team. About myself. I am a part time nurse, currently choosing to not work for a bit outside the home, mother of two children, 14 and 11. I have been homeschooling them both for the past 8 years.
I love to be creative. One of my newest things I am learning is plarn, wood burning, and upcycling. I hope to have some cool items soon. I love to draw, and paint, though I still have so much to learn. I began collecting gemstones when my son was a baby. After a while I figured I better do something with them, so I learned to make jewelry. I have expanded that learning into wire wrapping, and beading, along with my traditional gemstone jewelry. I also crochet, which is not new to me, but an old skill that I am relearning after many years of not doing it.
I have a hard working husband, and we live in the Sunshine State. I love to blog, write, take pictures, and learn all kinds of new things. I am an avid reader too. I guess that is enough, lol.

I am sharing one of my newest and most favorite paintings.

Well, hello there!

I have my Etsy shop since last September. I make original embroidery designs. I try adding listings as often as I can.
My recent Christmas-related one is this ornament design. I have a few of the kind, but this is my favorite from the lot:

I’m the busy tree rat behind “Nuttier Than A Squirrel”. I collect, create, photograph, and market my line of handmade acorn jewelry.

My shop sprouted in 2012 among the beautiful hills of the Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois. Last spring, I relocated to the Big Easy (New Orleans, Louisiana) to pursue art making on a full-time basis.

I keep my shop fresh with new stones offered in limited quantities, which change on a monthly basis. I am inspired by all things natural and love to spend my free time exploring new spaces with my old-school film camera. To find out more about my processes or shop, check out my “About Page“.

Here is a sample of Ruby Zoisite + Sterling Silver Acorn Earrings, which are a limited edition for July 2015.

I am the owner, designer, and metalsmith at Uruz Metals. My shop operates out of my home-based shop in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana.

I have been working with metal since 2004 as a student at Southern Illinois University. After college, I worked in the construction and pipe fitting industry with southern Illinois coalmines. In 2012, I was laid off from employment and jumped at the opportunity to invest my time into fine art production and developing my own business. To find out more, please check out my “About Page“.

My work gained quite a bit of notoriety in southern Illinois; so much so that I decided to take the leap into full-time art production in the art-loving Big Easy. I am currently working as an artist and freelance metalsmith, and enjoying every minute of it.

When I’m not working in my shop, I am enjoying all things New Orleans – art, food, and music!

This is one of my most recent postings – Black Pearl Drop Earrings inspired by the oysters of Louisiana.

I sell vintage items and wanted to have a Christmas in July sale in my shop this year. I have a few Holiday items and will be adding more this month. Been selling on Etsy since February 2013, retired from my librarian job after 38 years and love being retired and love selling on Etsy.
I just found this team as I was thinking about the prospect of Christmas in July. Someone mentioned the sale, and I started searching the forums, and this team was praised.
I started my shop, Of Mice and Elves, last June, and I sew aprons, including dress up aprons, and baby items. It was still in its infancy last July, so this will be my first year participating. In fact, I hadn’t even gotten my first sale until the middle of July! Since then, I have had almost 100 sales, which is a milestone in itself, and I am still thinking of new items to put in. I made fun presents for my nieces and nephews and everyone said I should sell them, so I decided to open shop. My busy season is usually Sept-Oct, as my dress up aprons make great Halloween costumes! I am in baby shower mode at the moment, and have had lots of opportunities to get my name out there with all the custom blanket and burp cloth bundles I’ve been making for family and friends’ new additions. I look forward to having some fun with the team in July at our event, and wish everyone happy sales!

This is my customizable baby shower bundle, which is my standard gift for any new mom, once I find out what her color scheme/nursery theme is. I have plans to add many more bundles with matching themed blankets and burp cloths over the next few months.

Hello everyone,

I learnt about this team through my Australian Wandarrah team & joined & set up my first CIJ sale this year!

Very excited to see how my sale goes & really happy to be a part of this team now too.

I’m sharing a picture of one of my favourite items to make, my fabulous Christmas Advent Calendars:

Hi, I’m Cat and heard about this team from Kelly at ColourscapeStudios over on AustralianWandarrah Team.

I’m from Australia ….way down the very bottom in Tasmania and I make quirky cat creations …mostly Flat Cat Heat Packs.

…and I have to admit to being a fabric addict.

I love seeing how they become alive in kids hands, how much they are loved by little ones, I just can’t stop creating them. It is so much fun.

Here is my personalised Big bear:

Hi everyone!
I’m Rebecca and I am one of Mrs. Claus’s many elves around the world. I just joined the team and this is my first year for #EtsyCIJ. Very excited to get everything figured out and get up to speed.
I think I discovered the world of crafting in kindergarten when they handed me my first piece of paper and bottle of finger paints. I’ve been at it ever since.
I also have OCD, Obsessive Christmas Disorder which I thank my grandma for. When I was five she bought me my first little 3 foot aluminum tree with pink pine cone ornaments frosted in white. I haven’t stopped since. The crafting and Christmas became a natural extension of each other.
With Pinterest came a whole new world of crafting to explore and I became fascinated with the quilted Christmas ornaments. I made two and haven’t stopped since.

It didn’t take long to realize ornaments are a year round thing. I love the time and effort that goes into each one, from looking for just the right fabrics to go together, to the hand crafting of each unique one. I may use some of the same fabrics on several ornaments, but no two finished designs are ever the same. Each is created with love to hold memories for years to come and to be passed down from generation to generation. Mrs Claus and I would not accept anything less.

I am a Social Media Manager by day so if there is anything I can be a help with, just give me a shout out. This is my Frosty Winter Ornament.

Hello everyone,

My name is Chantale and I’m the owner of bijouchantalgelinas.
I’m been doing jewelry for about 8 years now.

I do craft show and festival here in Quebec and I have one in New Brunswick,

Just started last year’s to sell on Etsy. And I have my own website.

I’m looking forward to do the CIJ for the first time but got to read everything and join every social media. Thank you for this opportunity, I’m looking forward to it.

Hello, everybody.

I saw about CIJ on forums and thoughtt I would try doing it this year. I have had my shop since November 2013. I have sold my crafts for over 20 years at local shows.

I am 63 and had to finally learn to use a computer to do this! I have been sewing for 50 years now, and knitting and crocheting almost as long. Love working with fibers, yarns and fabrics. I sew most of my own modest clothes and have sewn for family and friends also. I enjoy making shawls to go with old fashioned style clothing.

I also love cats and dogs and nature themes. I have more ideas for things to make and sell than I have energy!

My husband helps with photos, computer training, and lifting and shipping. Here is a white bridal shawl I knitted:

Hello, from sunny Greece!

I’m Maria and also new member in this team.

I love to decorate a variety of different items with fabrics, flowers, papers and paint them with chalk paints for a romantic and shabby chic decor.

Here is one of my wreaths :

Hello and thank you for having me in the team !
I am a clothing designer and I am excited to show you some of my work:

Hi everyone!

My name is Jaquelina Verzino. I have been selling on Etsy for a few years now.

I am excited about this opportunity to get my name out there and glad to meet other artist through this event!

My shop is VolverbyJVerzino and I make hand carved Queen Anne style dolls and Santos dolls .

Hi, we joined today!

Our shop is quite new, but we are selling really unique items- from wrapped thread, we make small, framed landscapes for living or bedroom decoration, kids room decors from thread, greeting cards from thread, you would not find similar on etsy, gift sets and also small acrylic paintings for kids.

As we represent new technique, it would be great to get more popular and reach the costumer. Some of our works:

Hi everyone, just joined the team! I have been selling on Etsy since August of 2010. I make beaded jewelry and rosaries, and I also sell beads and jewerly supplies.

I created Bead Lovers Korner about 13 years ago and have been selling online ever since then. About 5 years ago I quit my full time day job to work at home operating my business. While it has it’s ups and downs, I love what I do and the flexibility of making my own hours!

I look forward to learning more on this team!

Hello Everybody.

My name is Roxana and I have been on Etsy for a few years. I live in Canada and grew up in Peru.

I crochet and knit all my products. I use a variety of yarn on my creations.

This is the first time participating in this event and I am looking forward to gain experience.

Thanks for the opportunity.

Ana Cravidao from acbeadsjewellery says

Hello everyone!

My name is Ana and I am based in Portugal. In my shop, that I’ve started about a year ago, I offer jewellery made with seed beads, pearls and crystals using the beadweaving technique, also called off-loom weaving, which means that just a needle and thread are used.

I have been making and designing jewelry for about 5 years. Before that my passion was photography and painting. I love arts and crafts so I love being here on Etsy where there are so many splendid artists.

This is the most exquisite and time-consuming piece I have for sale:

Hi and thanks for setting up this team and coordinating this great event! I’ve been on Etsy a little over a year and this is my first CIJ event – I’m excited to be a part of it!

I’ve been working with glass as a hobby for quite a while now, starting in the stained glass art and then moving into fusing glass. I enjoy the craft and spend as much time as I can in my home studio.

I sell my glass jewelry here on Etsy, but I’ve also been exploring making decorative and functional pieces as well, which I hope one day to sell too. Here’s a little sampling of my jewelry. I hope you like it!

Hi all

Very excited to be part of this team. I love the Christmas season.

My shop is chock full of vintage/antique items. I have always loved the designs and styles of long ago and so enjoy shopping (the best part) for new finds. What I find most rewarding is learning about older periods..so much history!

I look forward to my first year participating in Christmas in July.

Hello, everyone!

My name is Yvonne. I have been collecting Vintage jewelry for the past many years, and decided to turn my hobby into a business. I am new to Etsy, but have been selling on Ebay since 2007. My how time flies!! I am in the process of moving my inventory over to Etsy.

I specialize in Handmade vintage sterling silver jewelry, mostly Native American or Mexican mid-century designed. I am also interested in collectibles, also vintage. Please stop by my shop and say hello.

HelloY’All!

I am Debbie & opened my shop just this month and found this Team and LOVE the information already that is given by so many wonderful shops.

I am originally from Maine – born & raised. My husband Brian and I moved to Florida 1 1/2 years ago now, and love it! No more filling that outside wood boiler at midnight for heat or shoveling snow!

We owned a shop under another name – (Bib-Dazzle Me, LLC) specializing in Children’s Bibs, Blankets, Toys & more as I was running a day-care at that time and it seemed a logical choice.

In our “down-time” we both enjoy sailing and look forward to the day we can get our 25ft. Catilina sailboat down here from Maine and get back on the water! Enjoy spending time with our new 6 month old puppy Miss Bella, that we adopted 2 weeks ago at a local shelter.

And are avid Nascar fans.

I have Fibromyalgia and enjoy making my Natural Hot/Cold Wraps & Packs to help provide comfort and relief for many others. All specific designs are my very own, though I will never claim to have re-invented the wheel here as Hot/Cold Therapy as been around a long time. I do however know my product and strive to always provide quality product.

I look forward to “networking” with fellow shops and owners. So, please come on over to License 2 Craft, LLC and see for yourself what we are all about. I always give the “Love” back to any shop or social networking.

Hope to “meet ya’ll soon!” ~Debbie

Amath from Gomis says

Hi I’m the creator behind Gomis.

Whereby I travel around the world and work with local artisans to make wonderful and unique items that are hard to find in the States.

I’ve been to Brazil, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, and Mexico. I just came back from my recent trip to Brazil and these Soapstone pots are something I’m particularly proud about. They are Environmentally Friendly, make great gifts for cooks, and just look amazing!

Hello, I joined a couple of weeks ago and have set up my coupon code and also changed tags and headings to include CIJ or Christmasinjuly. I’m just wondering what else I should be doing? Pondering whether I should create a section for CIJ and just offer a percentage discount on the items in that section or apply the code to all the items in my shop. What do you all do?

I got this wonderful Christmas Harris Tweed last year from an independent weaver and my tweed coasters are selling well so thought I would feature these:

Hello

My name is Janine from NSW Australia, and I just joined this team today! I found this team as I was browsing my own team page and saw a post about Christmas in July. I’m not really sure how it works!

I recently opened up a natural soap store on Etsy and will be introducing Candles soon. One of my hopes as an Etsy seller is to contribute to my family, but also to give back something to those less fortunate than myself…that is why I support Compassion Australia’s Child Survival Programs.

Today I would like to post an item from my shop that could be repackaged to be a little more Christmassy…and that is my Pink Peppermint Soap…perhaps with some peppermint candy cane wrap…not sure.

Season’s Greetings!

I just joined this team yesterday, and although I have been selling on Etsy for a couple of years this is the first time my shop, Red Yucca Designs, will be part of Christmas in July.

I am from the Boston area originally, but relocated to southern Nevada in 1996. I have been painting and making things for decades (since I was a small child). I majored in visual arts in college many years ago (BFA in Painting), but I have gone in many different creative directions over the years, including 20 or so years doing graphic design and marketing communications, mostly for high-tech companies. I enjoyed that work but I am glad it is behind me now and I am spending my time making what I want to make, with no creative guidelines or restrictions. If someone likes what I make, great. If they like it enough to buy it, even better! It is fun being able to offer a variety of OOAK, handmade items in my Etsy shop, including jewelry, greeting cards and other assorted hand-painted goods.

Here is one of my newer items where it finally occurred to me (better late than never) to combine my painting with my jewelry making: one of my gemstone necklaces with hand-painted pendant.

I have just joined. My interests are in Vintage Wedding accessories. I hand make bridal head pieces. I also have vintage gift items and vintage jewelry.

Here are some samples in my shop.

Carrie from madcapz says

Hi Everyone – Can’t remember if I joined in May or June but glad to be here and excited for my first CIJ event!

I’m a mom to 2 great kids, wife to wonderful husband, and entrepreneur to Madcapz – my hat business started when I was sick and losing my hair and couldn’t find a fun feminine baseball cap!

Looking forward to Christmas in July and this is one of my fun caps that will be 20% off:

Hello I joined today and this is my first CIJ event not quite sure how it all works but willing too give it a go. I have enjoyed crafts most of my life, and had my own ceramic studio, many moons ago.

I love anything crafty, knitting sewing, jewelry, ceramics, stained glass and faberge style eggs.

Looking forward to the event.

Hello! Jewelry is my passion and I have been designing and creating pieces since I was a kid. Last year when my son was born prematurely and spent 33 days in the NICU I decided to quit my corporate job and become a stay at home mom. I opened my Etsy shop last month and am having such a blast making items to list, especially these fun up-cycled leather belt cuff bracelets.

It is so much fun! I used to sell at local craft fairs and trade shows but am excited to be part of the Etsy global community.

Allyson from USA! I picked up the rainbow loom when the craze swept last year and now as it becomes less popular I stick with it and amp it up a notch with unique items and beautiful color combinations! I also make friendship bracelets like you may have at summer camp as a child like I did, but I take them to the next level with intricate patterns and new styles.

Love the idea of Christmas in July because of how summery my shop is! Most of my items scream summer and the idea of a summer sale will hopefully lead to more sales and customers!

I just joined the team (better late than never).

I sell wall art, digital downloads, and stationery. Most of my items are Aviation or Nautical themed because my husband is a pilot and I grew up on the East coast.

Here is one of my newly listed items that I hope you like:

Well, that the new June members – visit their stores, fav some items and spread the love!
