Tell us about Facebook.
Facebook is the largest of any social media venue. Research has shown that of all the social media sites, it is, by far, the most active.
What do you find valuable about Facebook?
Everyone is on Facebook! The sheer volume of active users. Kissmetrics.com reports that “Nearly half of all Facebook users are active each day. When they visit Facebook, they spend an average of 18 minutes per visit! These users aren’t only browsing profile updates or viewing photos. Each Facebook user is connected to an average of 80 pages, groups, or events.” That is a lot of connections!
What kind of content is most effective on Facebook?
www.entrepreneur.com tells us that a business’ goal on Facebook “is to let customers get to know the people behind the logo. You’ll want to portray your business in a friendly, “sociable” manner, as a place where customers are treated well and “everybody knows your name.” Your business presence on Facebook is better served less as a seller and more as a storyteller, or as a source of information related to your product or style. Posts with only words are definitely not interesting at all. Important too, not to appear “spammy” with your posting, no more than 2 facebook posts a day.
How can this social media platform be a part of your business strategy?
It’s important to have a social media plan. What can you achieve on Facebook?
Every aspect of your business takes careful planning and attention to detail. Having a well thought out plan for Facebook is not only important, it is essential for anyone who wants to get more visibility for their product. Two strong reasons why a plan can be essential include…
Your Time Is Valuable – Most small business owners are very busy and wear many hats such as; creator, bookkeeper, photographer, writer, marketing…the list goes on. Without a solid plan in place, Facebook can be a huge waste of time, money and resources.
Your Confidence Is Important – Creating your plan will then create confidence. You will no longer wonder if you are spending your time on the right things or “doubt” if you are doing it right.
Once you develop an effective Facebook plan, part of the “hard work” of using Facebook is out-of-the-way.
How do you develop this social media plan?
Think of your Facebook strategy as a “road map” – with the directions you need to create a thriving, active, loyal community. Learn and understand what Facebook can do for your business considering these goals as you craft your plan…
What will increase your overall exposure
How to use your Facebook page to build your brand awareness
How will you create a loyal, engaged community
How will your page develop sales of your product
Are you listening to your clients needs, interests and feedback
What is the most creative way to find new followers on Facebook?
Involve potential customers in your posts by posing questions. Write posts that they will share. The briancartergroup.com offers this chart…..
Studies have shown that new followers are gained by sharing information that they find useful. Post that constantly involve a “me” post do little to entice new followers.
Contests and giveaways always generate interest. Another important factor is to alternate general topics posts and own business ones, so that your page fans do not think it’s only full of ads.
How do you interact with others on Facebook?
Interaction on Facebook is crucial to the success of your strategy. Respond to all comments with a reply, not merely a like. Engagement is the key.
What else would you like to share about Facebook?
Whether using a business page or personal one, Facebook experts
suggest to post short interesting videos: they always get the most attention and are much more preferable than just text.
Facebook posts with photos also statistically receive more interaction than those with none. Important to note that you should always upload your own photos using Facebook’s photo’s function. Don’t use photos pulled up from a link.
There are plenty of different reasons that your business needs Facebook. What it boils down to, though, is that this is a FREE opportunity to reach out to your audience in their own personal environment, improve your SEO rankings and visibility, and show off your business in a way that people can relate to. Anyone can create a website and market it to the public. Taking advantage of social media resources like Facebook is going to give you an upper hand in marketing your business and generating a strong dedicated following. Plus…. It’s FUN! Make sure to have “Fun” with your business and your plan.
