I love the red crystal briolettes I used for these earrings because the facets reflect several shades of red, including grenadine. My inspiration was the romantic architecture of Italy and France which I translated into a modern style.

I moved from the UK to Baltimore USA seventeen years and was surprised at how much bigger the robins are her:e. This artwork done in acrylic inks was done in nostalgia. I was remembering how back in the UK the tiny little robins would fluff themselves up against the cold. Their vivid red feathers stand out against the snow reminding me of home.

Later the painting was printed onto an acrylic block making this the perfect decoration for the Christmas season propped up on the mantelpiece above a roaring fire.

Dana Martin from IllCallYouFromParis says:

Crocuses are often called the first sign of spring, but in fact they’re such early bloomers that they can pop up in the snow months before spring has actually arrived. I think of them as a Christmas flower in that they are a resilient symbol of hope even when the world is still in the grip of winter.

Greenery – Pantone Color Of The Year 2017 – #CIJParty 2017

Contributor post by Michelle of EviesToolEmporium

The 2017 PANTONE Color of the Year is Greenery.

The perfect color for our #CIJParty 2017!

Pantone shares:

A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.

Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.

Greenery is nature’s neutral. The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty and inherent unity of the natural world. This shift is reflected by the proliferation of all things expressive of Greenery in daily lives through urban planning, architecture, lifestyle and design choices globally. A constant on the periphery, Greenery is now being pulled to the forefront – it is an omnipresent hue around the world.

A life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.

What is the PANTONE Color of the Year?

A symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.

Here are a few Greenery items from the Etsy Christmas In July team on Pinterest!

Kale – Pantone Fashion Color For Spring 2017

Contributor post by Michelle of EviesToolEmporium

Color trends are a wonderful way to celebrate the seasons!

According to Pantone one of the top colors for Spring 2017 is Kale.

PANTONE 18-0107 Kale

Evocative of the great outdoors and a healthy lifestyle, Kale is another foliage-based green that conjures up our desire to connect to nature, similar to the more vivacious Greenery. And, just as we see in nature, this lush and fertile natural green shade provides the perfect complementary background to the more vibrant tones in the palette.

pam colangelo from PearlsVintagebyPam says:

Kale is the most popular vegetable at this time of year. So get out your juicer and make a Kale smoothie. Here’s an antique pitcher to serve the smoothie in. The pitcher has charm and it’s inexpensive! A great Kale gift for mom!

Dawn Whitehand from DeeDeeDeesigns says:

This set of three handmade pottery condiment dishes are a unique set of kitchen decor and are glazed in a beautiful glossy kale green glaze designed to highlight the subtle impressed floral pattern on the insides of the dishes. Their design is minimalist and influenced by the Japanese aethestic of Wabi Sabi – to be at peace and balanced. They are fired to stoneware temperature (1280C / 2336F) making them dishwasher safe, oven safe and microwave safe.

Unique and one of a kind these dishes would make great thank you gifts for teachers and ideal hostess gifts.

The dishes are perfect for serving condiments such as jam & cream, soy sauce, wasabi, pickled ginger. mustard, tomato sauce, rock salt, olives, sundried tomatoes, the list goes on! Of course they can also be used to hold candles, keys, coins – anything.

DeeDeeDeesigns

rosenthorn2001 from CrochetArtETC:

The Spring color along with the texture of this doily design are indicative of the refreshing, calm Kale green. The intricate raised patterns of this piece could very well be compared to the interesting beauty of the Kale leaf. I take great joy in creating a work from a vintage design and the Kale green color along with the unique patterns resulted in a stunning doily!

CrochetArtETC

Emma Kaufmann from StudioEmmaKaufmann says:

I too don’t like eating kale very much but love its earthy color. I was inspired by the leafy green to paint two playful elephant pals. I don’t know why I wanted to paint green elephants but it works! The print is available in my shop!

StudioEmmaKaufmann

Przemila K from CanisArtStudio says:

This is a door badge for dog lover (or dog memorial). Green is my favorite color. Green kale is most loved by people who have big dogs and love nature, long walks, adventures with wildlife, hunting or field trials. Here is a portrait of English Setter, very special dog breed for people who love nature.

I paint custom dog portraits and it’s possible to order similar item with your pet portrait. This oval oil painting is painted on wooden panel and protected by a clear coat.

CanisArtStudio

Diana from joliefemmebydiana says:

Kale green is practical color but also fun when polka dots are involved. The same idea as this wallet’s fabric combinations. The brown and pink girlie skulls in the center are cute and fun while the Kale green sides and interior are practical and pretty at the same time.

joliefemmebydiana

Patricia from TheOldBarnDoor says:

The colour Kale is rooted in the earth and makes an instant connection with me, as a full time farmer. My little frog pond is full of critters and floating bits of kale-coloured leaves. This shy little fellow made an appearance just long enough for his portrait. Don’t want to eat kale? Just carry the colour with you in this handy case.

TheOldBarnDoor

Lisajoy Sachs from saxdsign says:

A truly unique food, as a super food Kale is a healthy option. I try to add it to my diet, but like some other members it isn’t that tasty to me raw or cooked. So, I have figured out how to ferment it with cabbage and make sour kraut with it. If anyone is interested I can provide the recipe. it is really delicious. I have also made Kale kimchi which is really yummy too. This year I am trying to grow it in my own garden.

Fittingly these green kale colored butterfly gemstones are made out of a green type of Ocean Jasper which is only found on one place in the world. Madagascar. It is mined in the ocean at low tide.

saxdsign

Nancy Duncan from EponasCrystals says:

I love summer and the lush green foliage of the season. I made this green kyanite necklace to mimic the greens of summer. Kyanite is also one of my favorite stones, for the clean clear energy it omits.

EponasCrystals

Connie Lee from Bungalow42 says:

Okay, let me get this off my chest. I do not eat Kale because I do not like Kale… (pause for audible audience gasps). I know it’s good for you but the only redeeming qualities I find in Kale is it’s deep green color and the lovely organic shapes of the leaves. The color and shape of the Keshi pearls used in this bracelet definitely evoke a vision of Kale’s best qualities for me.

Dark Kale green Keshi pearls and light green top drilled “Dancing” freshwater pearls are a surprising pairing but I think it works. The silhouette of the bracelet is an ever changing bit of art as the pearls dance from one side to the other. The organic leaf shapes and the varying depth of Kale green color in the Keshi pearls guarantee that no two bracelets will be the same.

Bungalow42

Marijean from MariMartiDesigns says:

In this Wrist Rosary Bracelet, the beautiful Russian Jade beads play with both Kale and Greenery from Pantone’s 2017 trend list. I love the vibrant earthiness of the greens and the way that dark gives way to light in the veins of the Russian Jade used to create this Unique 5-decade wrist Rosary with Vintage Reproduction Cross in Solid Bronze. Makes me want to sit outside in a rustic, undomesticated forest and have some peaceful meditation time!

MariMartiDesigns

friedasophie from friedasophie says:

So I love Kale and Tourmalines and they are pretty much in the same color range. Seems like i am having a green phase!

friedasophie

Cristal Hughes from DesignsbyCristal says:

For those who love promoting peace will make the connection with the color green even though it’s a dark kale green it still signifies peace, health and wellness which is our overall goal right. The inside of this scripture wristlet is lined with a print that features a fish and the cross.

The scripture in questions comes from the Galatians 5:22 (Life by the Spirit )

When the designer created this fabric I believe this is why they paired them both together at least that’s how I view it!

Members of the Etsy Christmas In July Team have been inspired by the color Niagara. They have created items in their shops reflecting this inspiration! Here are a few!

As a gem dealer the Pantone colors are very important to me each year. There are always many gemstones that can fit the profiles of each Pantone color. This year the Niagra color has been incredibly popular, it is one of my best sellers. Especially since it is available in a tourmaline gemstone the Indicolite Blue color of tourmaline is so rare and unusual.

friedasophie from friedasophie says:

I dare to say that this one is quiet Niagara like!

I have had a ton of stress in the past couple of months and this type of blue just seems to calm and cool me down in moments of despair.

friedasophie

My in-laws took their honeymoon at Niagara Falls back in the late 1960’s and still vacation there regularly. My husband and I haven’t been there together yet but it is in our plans. Until then I made this necklace inspired by my mother in laws descriptions of the blue water and shining spray of the falls. She has fine and sparkly memories of her times there.

KestrelCollection

Nancy Duncan from EponasCrystals says:

Blue is my favorite color. This kyanite pendant goes perfectly with your favorite jeans. The pendant is made from a blue kyanite wand set in a shiny polished soldered cap. The necklace is an antiqued silver toned chain with stamped oval links.

EponasCrystals

Dawn Whitehand from DeeDeeDeesigns says:

These earrings are the ideal Niagara accessory, featuring beautiful denim tones. The earrings texture is imprinted with a pumpkin leaf from my garden while still soft and then glazed to highlight the impressed design.

DeeDeeDeesigns

We used to have a koi pond at our old house. My husband loved those fish so when I found this neat enameled koi fish pendant, I just had to turn it into a key ring.

Cynhumphrey

Stock Lane Studio from StockLaneStudio says:

This blue is so calming and easy on the eyes. It captures my attention, but doesn’t scream or shout. It’s a strong and stable color. Maybe that’s why I have it on my walls.

Gosh I just love this blue, and I look forward to using it more often now!

StockLaneStudio

Przemila K from CanisArtStudio says:

The blue color is calming and relaxing. It is the best color for bedroom decor and home interior which we want to feel relaxed. Blue is associated with water and also in winter. I painted this portrait of Syberian Husky on the background of Niagara blue colors to highlight his connection with winter sports. This door decoration promises from here you’ll feel really relaxed and the friendship atmosphere.

Diana from joliefemmebydiana says:

I love this shade of blue! So pretty and classic! Great summer color! This little bag is perfect for a bridesmaid or dressing up to attend a wedding or garden party.

Stock Lane Studio from StockLaneStudio says:

Hazelnut. I’ve been having a hard time labeling this color, now I know!

Did you know the Hazelnut is Oregon’s state nut? I come from Oregon, a prime hazelnut grower, and grew up calling them filberts. The word evokes fond family memories and relaxing carefree times on my uncle’s filbert farm. I think this color brings about a warm relaxing carefree feeling as well.

StockLaneStudio

spoiledfelines1 from SpoiledFelinesArt says:

Hazelnut is a great color. It’s one of those colors that can be used in a variety of ways. My fawn deer plaque is done on bass wood, which is a hazelnut color.

I chose to do the fawn deer on that piece of bass wood because I saw both the fawn deer and bass wood as beautiful and uncomplicated. I like to let the wood and design speak for themselves!

SpoiledFelinesArt

Przemila K from CanisArtStudio says:

The color of hazelnut is the one of the colors of earth and nature, so it is very pleasant to decorate the interior. I used natural wood and shades of brown to make this wall clock for a dog lover. I also used natural, dry oak leaves.

Donna Schindler from TreasuresFromTheLake says:

This bookmark I normally think of the season of fall with. But, rethinking it after reading the article I see that is marks transition; from the dark dreariness of winter, to the rebirth in spring.

TreasuresFromTheLake

Lisajoy Sachs from saxdsign says:

It is my pleasure to introduce you to a really beautiful and rare gemstone the Coyamito Agate, which is only found in one place in the world in Mexico. Coyamito agates are VERY RARE because of a few reasons – firstly they are very hard to find, and secondly they are really hard to cut because of the rare earth inclusions or Pseudomorphs found in the geodes that they are cut from. It comes in some really amazing colors, this one is a lovely hazelnut and earth tones.

I love the combination of different shades of pink and brown – they go so well together. The pale dogwood with the tiny white dots behind the “darling” is my favorite part of this card beside the bird. The idea for this card came around Valentine’s Day, but you can give it to someone who is special in your life any other day in the year as well. After all, it’s always a good time to tell someone he or she is our darling, right?
