Happy New Year – 2016

Contributor post by Michelle of EviesToolEmporium

How are you celebrating the arrival of 2016? Here are New Year items from members of the Christmas In July team.

Stock Lane Studio from StockLaneStudio says:

Hip Hip Hooray!

New Year’s Eve is all about a party: celebrating with lots of noise, drinking champagne, staying up to see the fireworks the ball drop in Times Square.

New Year’s Day is a nice meal with cherries jubilee for dessert. If I’m with my kids or relatives, we usually squeeze in some family movies and slide shows to reminisce.

No welcome to the New Year is complete until after the Tournament of Roses Parade – whether seen in black and white or colour it is a sure-fire way to ring in another year. That’s what New Year’s is all about – tradition!

Butterflies for a new beginning. New Year’s Eve/Day is often the time when we make resolutions to tidy and reorganise. This desk set is a solution to a problem. Designed and handmade by me for a published magazine commission, it is a one-of-a-kind set. Suitable as a gift for someone special or for yourself to brighten a study or work area.

Alexandra Richards from EyeLoveKnots says:

When I received a new set of crochet hooks, I knew I wanted to make one pattern that I could use them all on, and so I decided on a cute star applique. I thought they’d make great appliques for Christmas hats and cards, but made in a sparkly thread or yarn, they are also great to decorate the table with for the New Years Eve Party!
