#CIJPopUpMarket #1 Shop – Narelle from FELTBYNARELLE

1. What is the name of your shop and where do you look for inspiration?

The name of my shop came from a very simple place of wanting to have something that people found related to what my shop produced, and that was wool and felt ,hence FELT by NARELLE, and my Inspiration ORIGINALLY came from all the exciting things I saw on Pinterest but now I find that Inspirations *now find me!* I have so many things in my head that I wish to make that they are all lined up waiting for me to choose which one do I go to Next?

2. How has your shop evolved over time?

My work has evolved with the amount of expertise…..I started making my own felt and making small pouches, sleeves and purses and putting needle felting designs onto these. Now I have learned bigger and better. So my range goes from CAT’S their cat caves/ toys/ collars and brooches.

I started doing baby mobiles then getting all the attachments like cot attachments, music boxes and making Montages for nurseries as well.

I also found I love the needle felting side if this craft so much I have been making stand alone Art…doing unframed pictures and using needle felting on most of my items.

My shop is so varied that basically anything I can make from wool I do!

3. What do you love most about your work?

What I love most is CREATING things that others enjoy and are mostly *one off* so that I have the challenge of new ideas each time.

4. What motivating music do you listen to? Share your playlist that gets and keeps you going!

I have put all my favourite music artists onto a long list and put these on random play but my loves are Michael Buble’, Rod Stewart, Dean Martin, Bee Gees maybe showing my age!

5. What book are you reading right now and where is your favorite place to read?

ETSY has really ruined my reading…all my life I have been unable to go to sleep without reading, but now this is my time to update my Etsy shop and do all the required things on the computer that we all knows take so much time…but my favourite author was John Grisham…absolutely loved everything he has ever written!

6. What are your social media sites?

Start Packing

Contributor post by Alicia from AliciasFindings

There are so many items that you can pack things inside, including: tablet sleeves ,laptop cases, suitcases, backpacks and more.

They are so handy to have and help us carry a multitude of items during our daily lives.

Here at CIJ we want to know what items do you have that you can use in “packing”.

willowvalleyvintage from WillowValleyVintage says I like my clothes to look photo-ready when I travel—an iron is essential to get the wrinkles out.

This vintage travel iron is compact and comes with a leather carry case:

Stock Lane Studio from StockLaneStudio states I carry two pouches in my purse, one I use for pens and electronics, one I use for first aid and cosmetics. When I travel long distance, I take another for needed odds and ends. My daughter uses this blue and yellow case for all the dance trips she takes. It helps her stay organized and she loves the white street art peace dove. Her older sister (a SLS team member) captured the shot of the peace dove graffiti on a visit to the Berlin, Germany. The remnants of the Berlin wall have been painted over with meaningful expressions of peace and politics and is now considered one of the largest outdoor art galleries in the world.

Linda from LazyYVintage discussed that thinking of the coming spring, picnics are on the agenda. I have a basket similar to this one that we use during the spring and summer on family picnics and picnics for two. I love the old baskets. And the memories shared being outside enjoying a homemade picnic lunch.

Sue and Misty from shabbyshopgirls states that train cases are such a useful way to store and organize a variety of items! Use for holding cosmetics, art supplies, sewing items and office supplies! Extremely versatile for storage and can be conveniently tucked away to save space! Make sure you find one with the little cosmetic tray inside to hold and organize all those small items!
