The Victorian era was a time of hard work and building for the future but, also, a time of opulence and heightened interest in the arts. Refined sensibilities, romanticism and mysticism influenced our fashions and home decorations to create an expression of the time. With this inspiration, our team have gathered their Victorian style items to celebrate such an innovative period of our history.
When I think of Victorian, I think of doves, hearts (love), soft colors, intricate patterns, has a romantic feel, and is classy. This heart wreath was made and painted by me forty plus years ago from a kit. I’m not sure how ‘classy’ it is, but it does bring out the feeling of love and romance. It would be beautiful on a door or wall.
I was drawn to the triangular stones on this beautiful Victorian brooch. Another Shop owner, who specializes in jewelry, shared her knowledge and proof read my description. She told me it is Czech Glass and was able to determine the age of the piece by the style of the clasp.
The Lily of Valley Tea Cup and Saucer belonged to my husband’s grandmother. The colors of the set complimented the brooch.
In 1846 John Livesey made a curtain machine based on Heathcoat. The XIX. In the second half of the century, Victorian UK products are highly popular. The bobinet curtain is an upgraded version of lace upholstery that provides a more diverse base structure and greater patterning options. My lace cushion is made with this technique!

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming a new little one into our family — my neice’s new baby Scarlett. As closest ‘Auntie’, I get to babysit and cuddle and enjoy all the thrills of an infant and growing baby, and I am thrilled! I loved learning about how my teamies celebrate the beloved babies in their lives and what they offer to help the rest of us celebrate; check it out!
It’s a girl! We are expecting our first granddaughter on Thanksgiving! Little girls like to dress up. Mommies and grandmas like to dress up little girls from hair to shoes! Girls can be expensive. Here’s a chalk elephant bank to savevfor her future. It holds lots of money in this big bank secured with a plug.
After the birth of my son, I was inspired to create this piece after listening to the song “Carry” by Tori Amos. The quote: “here I will carry you forever” deeply resonated with me, and provided the jumping off point for this piece. Ultimately this powerful illustration symbolizes the idea that even after birth, I will always carry my son with me. A beautiful gift for new moms and a precious heirloom for children to come.
Adorable little colorful memory paci charms for the proud auntie and all the relatives. Great for purse, planners, anywhere a little color and bling is required! Congrats to all new moms!
There’s nothing like welcoming a new life into the word, full of hope and promise and dimpled cheeks and soft coos. Congrats Sheila and Shannon!
Whenever a new baby arrives in my extended family, the aunts and uncles and cousins go wild decorating the family’s front yard and door with signs and balloons and banners and storks.
Here’s a sweet heart full of baby love to welcome a new girl.
Our printable baby art is perfect for decorating a nursery or adding to printed and digital announcements.
Papercut portrait in layer its very beautiful customize portrait of her.
Here is cute vintage 1960’s maternity dress with lovely and colorful polka dots and rainbow striped.
Maybe a functional item that allows mum to have some me time…reading a book.
I loved it when I had my babies, recieving hand made items. I especially loved the quilts/blankets that baby could use for play time on the floor.
How about a little positivity hanging in the nursery or child’s room. A simple reminder that you are loved, to be happy, smile, dream, and love your family.
After the excitement of welcoming my own sweet little bundles and now having had the joy of six precious grandchildren, I always feel a little sentimental when I think of a new baby arriving.
Here is a bit of nostalgia for the new one’s nursery decor — “Wish Upon A Star” nursery rhyme collectible plate.
Congrats on your latest addition to your family.
My novelty lady figure cushion is not only a stylish addition to any home but is also perfect for Mums, Dads, and babies because of its unique design which can act as a comfy resting spot for the baby and also act as a comfy neck support for you when you most need it.
Many thanks for all the great shares!
Until next time,

Metallic is defined as anything made of or looks like its made of metal. Different metals tend to be popular at different times. At this time silver seems to be the hot metallic. I know some who follow the trends, but truthfully its personal preference.
We want to see all your metallics. Tell us all about your metallic item. What is it? What does it do? And so on….
Gillian from Gillisflowers said I like playing with different papers and often combine them in different ways. For this metallic looking hair comb I layered a VERY fine and delicate tissue paper in shades of blue on to a piece of silver foil paper. I love the finished effect and this hair comb really looks more like metal than paper.
Dawn from DeeDeeSupplies says being a supplies shop I have lots of metal in my shop!! These swirly beads are my favourite at the moment … I love the way they capture and reflect light due to their flowing shape.
Because of this swirly reflective quality they are not only great for statement jewellery but would also be great for home decor design such as wind chimes!
Diana from joliefemmebydiana said a lightweight little bag to use for evening is great with a metallic touch! One of these has gold metallic accents with green and the other has silvery metallic with teal. Both make a great gift!
Richard and Tatiana from DesignstheLimit states we originally created this design for the Net Neutrality protest many years ago now, but we keep it listed to show our support for Net Neutrality. We encourage Etsy sellers to show your advocacy in your Etsy shop and social media. www.etsy.com/advocacy/net-neutrality
Personalization, using any combinations of the designs in our portfolio and fonts we have available in our selection, is included in the cost of the products in our Etsy shop, but we also offer and specialize in commissioned inspired designs including images submitted on request. Submit your own images, have us create an inspired design with your inspiration.
Dawn from DeeDeeDeesigns says this necklace is made from upcycled metal guitar strings wound with a thin metal jewellery wire. The memory wire necklace is also metal, and while the feature bead is plastic it has a statement metal presence.
This is a great gift for the music lover!
Connie from Bungalow42 states the Mardi Gras rainbow of shimmering colors in these dangle earrings will literally go with any party attire. Check out all those cool iridescent colors. No glitter here but rather a metallic finish applied to these most unusual lightly ribbed vintage lucite beads.
Tovi from tovisorgaboutique said we print on leather and have a very unique range printing on metallic leather, so our products have a beautiful metallic feature, combined with rich, high-definition print design.
Some of our most popular products include metallic leather clutch bags, cuff wallets, bracelets and this particularly yummy Birds of Paradise tote bag – which features a toucan on one side and a cockatoo on the other.
Judy from JAMsCraftCloset says my sweet metallic silver flower girl basket will bring smiles to everyone as she walks down the aisle spreading her rose petals. The PERFECT accessory for the PERFECT wedding.
Holidays in the winter season, including Christmas, can be an opportunity for such happy times. And those of us who like to decorate ourselves as well as our homes and trees often do this with special jewelry. We asked our teamies to share their favorites in this regard, so we can draw inspiration from their holiday jewelry celebrations!
For all those “little black dress” occasions around the holidays, I love to throw on a long, graceful statement necklace that adds a festive, swingy pop of color and sparkle to the clean look of the little black dress! This one pairs FABULOUSLY with a pencil shaped black dress to add a swingy, slimming line of shimmer in festive greens and golds! The tassel screams party while still maintaining a polished and put-together look!
How about some ” fire and ice ” earrings for the holidays with creamy crystals and wonderful red tassels in leather:
I love Christmas (it is summer at Christmas for me!). These drop bead earrings are great to wear out to parties!
I love to decorate myself at Christmas as well as my house/tree, and green is my favourite Christmas colour. These earrings made with upcycled buttons and beads are a great festive accessory, and can be custom made in different colours.
Christmas for me is about shiny & sparkling things, like golden glitter in the x-mas tree or sparkly decorations on the table. This piece from my store is the most sparkly of all and it makes a lovely Christmas gift!
I love Christmas carols and I always love to listen to the Carol service from Kings College. I used to sing in a choir and one year had the priviledge of doing the solo first verse of Once in Royal David’s City so it has to be these musical angel earrings.
It would be a wonderful Christmas Gift for women these gorgeous Vintage 40s crystal neckalce and bracelet set.
How about a renaissance style ruby statement ring for all those holiday parties and gatherings!
To celebrate CIJ I made two holiday bracelets. I used Kumihimo, a Japanese braiding technique, and seed beads. Here’s one of them:
I would choose this elegant green onyx necklace. I think it’s both fun and glamorous and is a perfect compliment to the season!
Well, this pin isn’t for everyone, but we think it’s funny! (Don’t wear it to Grandma’s house!)
The perfect earrings for that little black holiday dress!
I love angels, there is some thing reassuring about them, one of my favourite songs is Amy Grant, Angels watching over me.
Until next time,

Fashion accessories can be jewelry, bags, scarves, eye wear, jackets, boots…

Lizzy and Boo from LizzysBibsandBobs says this gorgeous piece of vintage bling would be sure to add the right amount of sparkle to any formal outfit – Mother of the Bride, Mother of the Groom, School Prom etc. It’s big , its bold and most of all it SPARKLES!!
Natalia from KMalinkaVintage said I found this antique jewelry box in local thrift store. It is a unique item with a hand engraved floral and such a beautiful snow frosted design on glass. I just love it!
Nancy Duncan from EponasCrystals states Vintage Native American Turquoise Pin Pendant with beautiful blue turquoise set in sterling silver. The pin is signed on the back by the artist. It could be used as a sweater pin, on your lapel, wear as a pendant, so many possibilities!
Gari Anne from beadloverskorner says these Eternal Reflection Earrings are a wonderful accessory in a two-tone silver and gold, which goes with nearly everything! These earrings were worn by Elena Gilbert (played by Actress Nina Dobrev) on “The Vampire Diaries” in season 5 episode 2. They were gifted in consideration for use to the costume stylist of the CW Network series “The Vampire Diaries”, in a collaborative gift bag from The Artisan Group®.
Linda Yunker from LazyYVintage states how about for men? This 100% wool winter hat and scarf set is created in an Irish-inspired design with a beanie hat in navy blue trimmed in pale gray. It will make a wonderful Christmas gift as well as keep them warm with a subtle style (as if the Irish were subtle).

The season is upon us! A time for family and friends. A time for caring, sharing, and giving. Why not let the Christmas in July team help you find that special gift that shows just how much you care? Just be careful, or you may wind up in Ken Nesbitt’s predicament!
December I went shopping
for presents for my friends.
I bought a bunch of knickknacks
and a lot of odds and ends.
I picked the kinds of presents
that everyone enjoys:
Computer games and candy
and a wagon-load of toys.
I brought them home and wrapped them.
I placed them near the tree,
but liked them all so much
that I unwrapped them just for me.
Would it be wrong to keep them?
I guess it just depends.
Can someone loan me money
to go shopping for my friends?

Join the Christmas In July team as we celebrate October – New Arrivals.
I saw these so nice and so tiny pumpkins and immediately imagined them on a green meadow: it would be a nice contrast of colors!
So I prepared the base with some stabilized lichen (it means its real lichen treated, so that it remains always the same).
Some maple leaves with their stunning forms and shades completed my fall landscape.
I think it’s a colorful wreath to enhancing any front door in this beautiful period of the year.
Decorative notebooks are something new I have added to my shop. I had the idea of making a pumpkin Notebook for the Fall season. Use for Journaling, writing something everyday that you are thankful for, or makes a fun gift for someone with a Fall Birthday!
I love searching for discarded desk organizers at antique malls or flea markets and painting them with a fresh coat of Chalk Paint, voila NEW and improved desk organizer!
Then I hand rub WAX onto the piece, so nice!
I just added this tablerunner/wallhanging to my shop today. I’ve been working on stocking my shop with table linens such as tablerunners and placemats. I had been working in a more neutral pallet, and also finished a quilt this summer using earth tones. I wanted to make something much more colorful, so chose these lovely turquoise, blue and teal batiks for a set of placemats and the runner. The bright colors made me smile each time I worked on the set. These pieces could bring a touch of the Caribbean to your decor all year long!
Christmas is just around the corner, and I love the fun of the season…. I love to wear Christmas jewelry and I like to decorate my tree with unique decorations – this makes the occasion even more ‘special’ and ‘personal’!
Several years ago I stumbled upon a similar big eared elf much like this one at a thrift shop – it was love at first sight! I have been obsessed with these elves ever since. ( Who am I kidding? I’m at the hording stage!) I soon discovered that these elves come in several sizes which range from large 7 inch ones, to tiny 2.25 inch pixies. The predominant outfit color is red, followed by white polka dot. There are a few blue and green outfits out there too, but not many. They were made in Japan, by a handful of manufacturers, who seemed to blatantly copy each other! All were made post World War II from the early 1950’s to the 1960’s. I haven’t been able to locate any locally of late and now engage in online bidding wars at estate sales.
To me this elf ( and the rest of his “cousins” in our shop) represent the quintessential nostalgic Christmas decoration. A little shabby, but bright, warmly conjuring up memories of bygone holidays. Guaranteed to bring a smile and lots Christmas cheer to any spot.
In honor of World Teacher’s Day, from a fellow teacher….a colorful apple keychain with recycled and repurposed vintage beads!
This bolster style headbands holder was a special request from a lovely customer to match a personalized name banner that I made with this color combination.
It is always very rewarding to venture out of my comfort zone and work with different media.
Just listed vintage 80’s black eel skin leather handbag. I found this lovely purse in a Palm Springs thrift store. It can be a great gift idea for her!
Just listed! I fell in love with the color when I saw this yarn. It is 100% superwash wool. really soft, not itchy so I decided to offer it in other colors as well. But this is my personal favorite.
Listed just now! I have made aprons with this same design before, but I found this fabric and fell in love! Such a great fall feel with the yellows and gray print really made me think of October afternoons and hanging out at craft fairs!
I love cooking for the holidays, and found this adorable pattern for a Thanksgiving Apron. I love it! Quirky, cute, and full of personality!
I love Swedish, Danish and Norwegian linens, but stopped buying and selling them when so many wonderful Scandinavian shops started up on Etsy. They have much better access to these amazing pieces than I. However, I couldn’t pass up this Scandi textile, because it has the sweetest printed graphics I’ve ever laid eyes upon…I love the playful children, the proud parents, the colorful dala horse and explosion of flowers!
My original art quilt depicts the South Shore in the little Lake Michigan Village of Arcadia were we make our home. The solitude found on this public beach is reflected in the quiet sky and water at sunset. Using my Lake Michigan sunset photos, I created this art quilt in my home studio.
