Tell us about yourself.

The dream started years back in Lisbon by me.  What started as a casual fun has grown into a good outfit that produces urbane, enchanting and irresistible jewels.

I am 50 years old and i have a mathematics university degree. I’m married and have a 19 years daughter and a 16 years son… and we also have our little Shitzu dog

I have worked for years in a multinational company playing several roles like database development, planning & control and the latest years in marketing roles, such as strategy, business development, loyalty cards and brand/product launch.

Now I run a family business in the music area – not profitable at all, since culture in Portugal is a very small business – and started this business on Etsy.

When did you open your business and what make you decide to do so?

Once I left the multinational company i was working before (where I had to travel a lot) I found myself with loads of time, so started to do some ‘styles’ for myself and friends.

After some time I was always buying more and more and trying to get people to be aware of my ‘new job’ and passion.

Then someone told me to open a store on Etsy and ‘spread’ my work worldwide. and I have done so and here I am now.

Tell us a bit about your products.

All our products are made with dedication, taking into consideration that the gifts we give are like perennial spring that runs in the fount of their hearts.  As a result, we are driven by this passion that someone is wearing a ‘piece and bit’ made with all dedication, care, and love.

The materials used are of the highest obtainable quality such as Leathers, Zamak Sterling Silver Plated, Aluminium, Genuine Portuguese Cork, Swarovski Crystals, Ceramic, Resin Beads, so much and more.

What inspires your work?

Our jewel range and decorative accessories are crafted to create an emotional connection. We take into consideration the fact that love can be braced to sassy heights with the power of gifting custom-made jewels.

Our styles are urbane and our designs are stylishly suave. They are irresistible because we always follow changing trends and thus create fashionable jewels that meet the needs of our clientele.  Whether the jewels are for personal, home or office use, they create irresistible focal points of alluring beauty.

What are your future goals for the business this year? What is your dream for this business?

I would love to reach 10,000 sales this year, which is far from being achieved, but that is a hope and a dream which i live for in 2018.

I would love to have some influencers and bloggers to talk about my pieces and that could spread more and better the word CozyDetailz. That is something that i will work throughout this and the next couple of years, since there’s no better publicity than the ‘word of mouth’.

What makes your business stand out from businesses that sell similar products?

When you need personalized jewel with specially inscribed messages, think Cozy Detailz.  We peep into your heart and know what is good for you. We bring you to the world of enchanting jewels.

Whether you desire an outing along the garden parterre or by the shoreline of a roaring sea; whether you desire to relish a great time with loved ones indoors or you choose to ride along the lakeside, our products will suit the moment and speak a thousand silent word of love.

Tell us a bit about your work space. Do you have a separate studio?

Yes, I do have a separate studio for myself.

Due to the increase of the business and since I’m always wanting more and new items I had to convert our office into a studio, where i spend now my evenings, and part of the weekends – being creative and thinking how much more creative and better i can be to reach more customers and friends.

What have you learned since opening your business that you wish you had known before hand?

All the favoriting, renewals, groups and sponsor products. It is a great help and I had to learn it all by myself… which was frustrating sometimes.

Any advice for those thinking about selling on Etsy?

It is hard and takes you some time in the beginning to make your products stand out, over so many other beautiful and quality similar ones. So you need to think how and which do you want to top up for success and getting noticeable. And never give up. I had my first sale only after 4 months of hard work and investment.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do to unwind and have fun? Do you have any hobbies?

I do spend a lot of time working. Since in the evening I do need to catch up with Etsy orders and produce them in time.

But the most enjoyable think I like to do is travel. It gives me tons of good vibes knowing the world, people and cultures. And of course enjoying time with my family – that is a gift I have every day and unfortunately do not take good advantage- something I will have to work harder as well – to have family QUALITY time!

What is your favorite quote?

I have so many ‘leadership’ quotes that I love, but this one is very special:

“You Learn More From Failure Than From Success. Don’t Let It Stop You. Failure Builds Character.” – Unknown

Where can people find out more about your business?

I have also launched my website, so here it is – have a look and join our COZY Club: www.cozydetailz.com

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

Yes I do.

Follow your dreams and passion with hard work and dedication and share that special bit and piece of you to the world.

Somewhere, sometime, someone will leave you a comment that have made it all worth!

Aurora Red – Pantone Fashion Color For Fall 2014

Contributor post by Michelle of EviesToolEmporium

Color trends are a wonderful way to celebrate the seasons! According to Pantone one of the top colors for Fall 2014 is Aurora Red.

Aurora Red is a more sophisticated shade that adds verve and spark.FCR_FALL2014_Home_Banner_Img

Members of the EtsyChristmasinJuly Team have many Aurora Red items in their shops! Here are a few!

Patricia and Rebecca from northandsouthshabby found this cheery Santa at an estate sale. It is a beautiful example of hand carved folk art from the New England region. They love how each whittled cut is angled in the piece -it lends to the rustic charm! Beautifully carved, and gorgeously painted, featuring an earthy shade of red -or as Pantone calls it – aurora red! A wonderful shade that will not overpower your holiday decor!

Lia from Ghirlandiamo says that creating this wreath, she liked using not the classic Christmas red but a bit different one. Lia wanted to create a particular contrast between the base color and the white snow flakes. What do you think about it?

Amy from BeadsandThreadsbyAmy loves deep red for the holidays. When she found these hand cut lead crystal beads at a bead store on their travels to Southern Colorado, she knew they were screaming “ornament”. Here is the result of that lovely trip!

G from PaperDraper shares This seems apt as she has what could be an aurora red in the sky! Her images for this collage were taken from a 1940’s newspaper and the lines behind signify a bomb blast with boy scouts cycling for their lives.

Majorie from mscenna came upon these vintage chunky pearl beads and couldn’t quite decide what to make but had a necklace in mind. When Majorie found the blue vintage beads and all she could think of was “something borrowed and something blue”.  She put them together in hopes of finding a bride who wanted a vintage inspired necklace!

Susan from SSFDesigns made this Aurora Red sequin evening dress for a custom order. She thought that the hardest part to making it would be getting the perfect fit and the boning detail , but it turns out that trying to get the picture taken with all the sequins was the hard part. Ordered as a custom order in her shop.

msmadmax from madmaxshop says that Julie Barne’s (Peggy Lipton) probably wore a bodysuit similar to this one being one of the hippest and first young undercover female detectives. Soft and stretchy and easy to wear. Dig it!!!

Rachel Palmer from 910woolgathering says the yarn she used in the scarf was the inspiration. The separate colors all lend themselves to go together, that it is always fun to try new pairings that she never would have tried. The shine and the drape are also added bonuses.

Kristy Jo from KrystalKlarityBeads shares that she made this because it has such depth and a more natural feel than many other stones. She kept thinking of fall colors and the depth that nature shows in, say – a red Maple tree. She had a necklace of this already and the stones are smooth and comfortable so she wanted a bracelet as well. Kristy Jo likes to look at bracelets (when we wear them they are more visible to us ourselves) and she tends to look from the color of what she is wearing to the colors in nature when she is outside.

Nancy Duncan from EponasCrystals says that while red is not one of her favorite colors, carnelian is one of my favorite stones. It can be orange to red in color, and these beads were in that red zone. Red brings a warm energy and is a nice color for fall and winter.

candy frizzell from TrueEarthDesigns says we usually think of the orange and yellows of fall, but look at a autumn tree and you see a deep brick red as well. This is her favorite time of year.

Elizabeth Berry from feesfusions says she made this pendant with a technique called a pot melt. Several colors of glass are melted together in the kiln and the end result is always a surprise as you really never know what the end result will be. Elizabeth really likes the reds in this pendant with a touch of white and black.

collectique from Collectique says nice Norwegian tole in these two hand painted Aurora Red wall hangings. Gives a bright enhancement to any room, but she pictures them hanging in the kitchen since one is a cutting board and the other is a wall pocket or a knife holder. Matching floral designs and the green swirling leaves really deepen the lovely red background color.
