#CIJPopUpMarket #2 Shop – Rosalia and Linda from Doublemuse

Doublemuse

Doublemuse

1. What is name of your shop and what is unique about your shop?

Our shop is DoubleMuse. Me and my best friend Linda make functional, fun pottery. That is our first passion. Then Linda makes beautiful heirloom quality crochet doilies. Finally I make jewelry. Ceramic pendants, bracelets and more.

2. What is your favorite July activity where you live?

t’s hot here in CT so I spend most of my time in my studio (aka the basement) making pottery and hanging out with my dog Mia.

3. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

Tuscany! My husband and I were there for the first time this past September and I fell in love.

4. Who do you most admire in life?

Firefighters and first responders. They don’t get enough credit for putting their lives on the line for us.

5. What is a skill you’d like to learn and why?

That’s a hard question because there are so many but I think I would love to try glass fusing. I feel I could incorporate that into my pottery and make really unique pieces.

MsPDesignsUSA

1. What is name of your shop and what is unique about your shop?

Our shop is MsPDesignsUSA and we design quilt patterns, mostly for children and babies. Our designs are unique and original.

2. What is your favorite July activity where you live?

It is summer in Houston, so we stay indoors (sewing models to show our quilt patterns mostly) in July or we spend time at the swimming pool.

3. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

I’d love to travel to Australia and New Zealand. There are so many beautiful things to see, and such unusual wildlife. But I’m not choosy- I’d go to Alaska or Norway or England or Paris if I had a ticket to ride.

4. Who do you most admire in life?

I admire people who are kind to others.

5. What is a skill you’d like to learn and why?

I’d like to learn to make mosaic tile designs because they are beautiful.

Lots of my holiday production is done indoors, and monsoons create incredibly exciting thunderstorms that raise the humidity in the desert, allowing precious water to nurture our ecosystem.

4. Who do you most admire in life?

Anyone with courage.

In the UK the schools break up for Summer and we always have a two-week holiday in our vintage Eriba caravan at the seaside.

Undoubtedly a tour around Scandinavia, visiting Denmark, Norway and Sweden. So many brilliant designer/makers come from this area of the world and I would love to understand more about their way of life.

My Great Great Auntie Gladys, her life was dedicated to serving others and she found such value and love in it.
