I kind of have a thing for green glass. I found this at an estate sale in Ringwood, IL He was gentleman farmer, and a great a collector of vintage and antiques for the house and barn. So, this piece and another vase are for the shop; the other pieces I’m not ready to part with yet!
These fibers were crocheted in rug a long time ago by me, on my early days of craftsmanship. It was too tensed (small hook) and with no technique in changing rows and colors, had never been used, was stored untouched. During this summer and after my present experience I decided to unravel it and this is my new addition to my carpet section.
I love art dolls and Halloween so a zombie art doll is the perfect creation for me. I design my own patterns and I love to hunt for vintage findings such as buttons, keys, gears, nails, etc to be the perfect accent for each doll. I hand dyed and print my own fabrics to make each doll a truly unique work of art! Zombies can be a year round decoration…not only for Halloween!
In Austria we believe pigs are for good luck so we give each other pig related goodies for new year. When I saw these adorable pig charms I could not resist!
I love the colour combination of purple with gold! When I came across these raw brass settings, I just knew I had to create these glass opal dangle drops. Add some quality 14K gold filled ear wires and the earrings are a delight!
My favorite stone is turquoise and I incorporated many other types and styles of beads as well. This is a southwest style necklace with a feminine touch.
Since the subject matter that I want to explore and communicate is so dark and melancholic, I like to play
around with a beautiful fairytale-like look to the image. I want to “draw” the onlooker in and then let them
discover that everything is not as it should be in this “beautiful” place. I love the uneasy pairing of innocence/
cute and ominousness.
