Etsy Christmas in July members are often in different seasons, due to our team being in different hemispheres (International).
We want to know what Season you are in, a little about what the season is like where you live and post one picture that represents it.
Dawn Whitehand from DeeDeeDeesigns says at the moment, here in Australia, it is Autumn. Australia is a huge country and Autumn means lots of different things depending on where you live. I live in the southern end of Australia, and I also live in a high area, so it is cold.
The past week there has been strong winds and lots of rain, so its been snuggle inside and stay warm time! And there is nothing better than a hot mug of soup to accomplish that!
So where is spring? I want my spring back, with lukewarm temperature, lovely evenings, meadows with daisies and first swallows coming back from Africa!
To remind me it’s spring, I decorated this wicker heart with typical spring flowers: white and yellow daffodils.
Dana Hamant from LilybeanzBowtique states we are supposed to be in spring here, but it has been so cool and rainy. We do have good days, but lately we have been wearing jackets and long pants. The past couple of days we haven’t seen the sun. The item in the cover picture epitomizes our current weather to me and the optimism that the sun will be shining bright in the coming days.
friedasophie from friedasophie says I live in San Francisco and we are in the spring/summer season here but after 6 pm we have winter temperature’s even in high summers.
I think this piece represents our climate perfectly because it is summery and cooling at the same time.
Astrid Prayag from RedNeedleQuilts states I’m from Norway (where it is summer now), living in tropical Mauritius (small island in the Indian Ocean, East of Madagascar), where it is ‘winter’. Not winter with snow of course, but temps go as low as +10C/50F on the plateau, this time of the year. Locals call it the ‘cold’ or ‘winter’ season. Rain and high humidity makes it feel cold inside, so what I love is to snuggle on the sofa in one of my handmade quilts.
Tanya Hardman from TheWoollyTangle said I’m in Yorkshire in the UK. Should be spring but really we’re swinging this year between spring, summer and autumn, sometimes all in one day. Today started chilly, than lovely sunshine, then it poured with rain! I have not packed my knitwear away! Little shawls are great at times like this when you just want a little extra snuggly layer.
Laetitia Herbert from Folkeshi states It’s summer in Japan. Hot, humid, sunny summer, and soon all places over Japan will celebrate the season with fireworks. Fireworks in Japan are literally called “fire flowers”, and the pattern on this Japanese wooden doll (kokeshi doll) reminds me of it.
Mallori Packer from MGPCreations discusses I’m in Melbourne, Australia. It’s winter here and pretty chilly in the mornings and especially at night. I’ve picked my favourite mug cozy because there is nothing better on a cold night then to have a hot cup of coffee/tea/hot chocolate with a cute little cozy to keep it hot!
Kelly from ColourscapeStudios says winter here in Australia, and when the night’s are clear, it’s freezing cold, but so beautiful looking up into the night sky as the stars just seem to shine a little brighter!
Lizzy and Boo from LizzysBibsandBobs states It’s winter here in my part of the world – Rural NSW in Australia. It’s so chilly in the mornings, that the only thing that will get me out of bed is the promise of a hot cup of tea!
I live in Houston, Texas, USA. Currently, it is Summer, which is HOT and Humid. We have been getting a lot of rain so that really increases the humidity and mosquitos are rampant.
Each day it is around 100 F with close to 100% humidity.
This is when I want to escape to a cool place.
This reminds me of Texas, with all our wildflowers out.
