Upcycled Recycled Eco Friendly Creative Accessories

Finishing up a bag!
Upcycled and recycled fashion and home accessories
What goes around comes around!

That is what Groovy Garbage is all about-bringing it full circle! We take materials destined for the landfill and upcycle, recycle and repurpose these goods into original Groovy Garbage fashion and home accessories! We use inner tubes, vinyl signs and banners, circuit board, beach chairs, glass and just about anything we can get our hands on!

We are a husband and wife team based out of our home. We both have full-time careers. I am a cardiovascular Technologist and Jane, my wife is a Dental Hygienist.

Groovy Garbage started out as an experiment with a handbag made from a salvaged inner tube. Jane still carries this bag-it was made in 2008! Groovy Garbage has evolved into a hobby and many friends and family members received original Groovy Garbage items as gifts. Our small home based, part-time business has turned into a trademarked brand-GROOVY GARBAGE. We sell here on ETSY and various retail outlets and shows and events! We have a Facebook page and we are on Twitter as well as our website,

We are always experimenting with new upcycled/recycled raw materials for our designs and products. Our inventory is always changing and evolving! Most of our items are one of a kind because of the nature of our raw materials! We can recreate certain designs, but everything at GROOVY GARBAGE is unique and has its own elements of individuality!

Check it out! We take special orders, wholesale and work with non-profit organizations! Check out GROOVY GARBAGE! Spread the word and preach the GREEN GOSPEL!!GroovyGarbage3

When did you open your business and what make you decide to do so?

We started Groovy Garbage in 2008 as a creative outlet and a way to divert garbage from the landfill to anyone interested.

Tell us a bit about your products.

All of the Groovy Garbage products are handmade by myself and consist of materials that were destined to go to the landfill for an eternal life of polluting and taking up valuable space.  We use inner tube, salvaged beach chair fabric, salvaged electrical wire, wine corks, vinyl signage and most anything we encounter that has an alternative use!GroovyGarbage2

What inspires your work?

Eco Fashion and accessories are what we are! We are driven to provide creative and functional designs in jewelry, bags and home furnishings derived from what other consider to be trash or garbage.

What are your future goals for the business this year? What is your dream for this business?

We are a trademarked brand and hope to continue and evolve as an eco, upcycled brand. We would LOVE to have more retailers of our Groovy Garbage brand!GroovyGarbage4

Tell us a bit about your work space. Do you have a separate studio?

Our work space consists of our home, our yard, driveway and a small guest bedroom. We use different areas to do certain processes.
