I am fascinated by trends. Are you? There are weather trends, work place trends, business trends, job trends, food trends, real estate trends, hair trends, fashion trends color trends and so on.
The definition of a trend is a general direction in which something is developing or changing. In college I took several classes on trends. I remember distinctly studying pre peak – peak – post peak timelines. I find trends intriguing. They pique my curiosity.
Trends unite us. Give us a common ground. A connecting point.
During the #CIJParty 2015 I introduced you to the Summer 2015 Trends. Over the next few days I would like to share the CIJ team member trends in more detail!
The fourth summer trend we’re going to explore is Luxury Materials, Contempory Designs. This article is inspired by the Trend Watch Summer 2015 on the Etsy blog.
Sandra from TheFeminineTouch says:
These are some of my new unique designed summer cushions. All hand knit in either 100% luxury cotton or cotton / silk mix yarns. All uniquely designed by myself, funky , fun and summery. It took me a few months to perfect the mosaic knitting technique to be able to design my own patterns. I’m so glad I did.

I made this thread and yarn picture, inspired from so called red planet Mars. I looked through pictures about space and this planet until I got lot of inspiration and could reflect it into my wrapped wall decor. We both with my husband love space connected themes, science fiction movies, documentary movies so it was very exciting to put this passion into artwork, creating sand storm onto Mars.
Nadine Jalem from Love2quilt says:
I created this piece in playing with fabrics, with no plan in mind, using commercial batik fabrics and some of my own hand dyed fabric. The piece evolved during the creative process.
It is machine embellished-quilted with variegated rayon threads. Perle cotton hand stitches have been added for interest. It also features a three dimensional leave ( top right corner).
The size of the piece is 9 x 10 inches.
Ingafrom FaufulisFashion says:
I am keen on silk painting, that’s why I am looking for the ways how to change the painted fabric into the practical things. At the moment these are silk clothes and pillow-cases. I offer the wonderful, self-made presents for different important celebrations – wedding, visiting to see the new baby, etc. Silk – it’s my passion!
Linda B. from lindab142 says:
I was inspired to make this item because I love working with wire. I chose to write out a short word that could be made in wire. Love is such a powerful word and so encompassing, I wanted to share it with others. I added the chains to the word to keep the necklace positioned right when you wear it.
Here is and example of my new designed summer collections. All are handrafted and designed by myself. Featuring geometric shaped in bold vibrant summer colors.
